Here are some pictures from some of my hunts… For your enjoyment if your interested I’ve included several photos I took in various Chicago cemeteries during my trip there last October… Also if your interested in using these photos it would be much appreciated if you email me first to get permission… Most if not all the time I’ll be more than happy to grant it just as long as my self or this blog get the credits… Because it is somewhat hard work and in most cases time consuming to go trotting around cemeteries to photograph grave markers… So without further adieu here are the pics…

Well its been a few months since I’ve updated the blog… I’m dieing to get to the cemeteries but being that I’m from Michigan its been very cold and snowy outside… These types of weather conditions are not ideal for grave hunting… I can’t wait until Springtime arrives and I’ll be strutting around the cemeteries again…

But anyway recently to cope with wanting to be in the cemeteries or for a lack of better words wanting to be in Southern California cemeteries where all the celebrities are buried I’ve taken an interest in the classic movies of the golden age of the silver screen… So needless to say I’ve been watching a few movies here and there on the Turner Classic Movies channel… I really wish they’d show some Marx brothers films, or films with Paul Muni… But I guess I’ll just have to wait…

I’m leaving for Chicago tomorrow afternoon… I’ve been patiently waiting to get out there for a while now… I did a tally up on the gangland graves I plan on tracking down… I have roughly 39 grave sites to photograph spread out in 11 cemeteries in and around Chicago and the suburbs… I can’t wait until I get out there… The first order of business after landing at Midway Airport tomorrow is to stop by Gene & Judes hotdogs located in River Grove, Illinois… This is one of my favorite food joints to frequent when I’m in town… Its a different concept on hotdogs the concept consists of a hotdog with relish, mustard, freshly cut french fries deepfried to perfection to be put ontop of the hotdog… That place has been a mainstay in local cheap eateries since the 40s… You either like it or you don’t…

But anyway about my list of 39 gangland figures, and people associated with them in one way or another… I’ve got roughly six days to complete my mission not including this Sunday and tomorrow when I arrive in the windy city… By the time this thing is over I think I’ll be ready to retire from grave hunting but more than likely probably not… Let the games begin…

The Guru

With my ZR800 biting the dust over the summer at a bike rally I was at… And due to my impending trip next weekend to Chicago… I decided to buy a newer Canon ZR model the 900… I was getting jelous that there were videos floating around on you tube about mt. carmel cemetery so I had to get one…

I ordered it off the wally world site which included a minidv tape and camera bag in the package for $189 with shipping it came out to be 214.98… It should be arriving next week by the time I leave for Chicago… Not to mention I also wanted to get video footage of the other 10 cemeteries I plan on visiting where Chicago gangland figures are buried…

As originally mentioned I was planning on bringing my camcorder with me to Chicago… Well that plan has been scratched because I originally thought it was all back to normal but it was still broke from the last time I used it at a Bike Rally in Indiana… So I’m gonna try to come up with a video camera by borrowing one from someone my uncle knows…

So needless to say the next thing on my agenda after I get back from the Windy City is I’m gonna be in the market for a new camcorder… I’m also in the market for a new digital point and shoot camera… As the one I have is one of the early versions of the Canon Powershot A series… It still does a great job I’m just ready for an upgrade…
