Going to be leaving for my 3 o’clock flight to the Windy City in a half an hour… I can not wait until I get there… Gonna do some grave hunting, gonna try to hook up with some cigar buddies, gonna have a hell of a time… Chicago is like a second home to me… The people, the history, the grave sites, the food, the skyscrapers, I pretty much love everything about that city…

I’m also fortunate enough… To be able to have the opportunity to hunt down the grave sites of the cities most notorious gangsters… That reason alone is what I love most about Chicago… I have a long list of gangland types to find the grave sites of… And to think this hobby all started out when I was determined to find the grave site of Al Capone which I’ve found many times over and photographed on several occasions…

Thanks to Al Capone and his obscure grave site which was practically easy to find in Mt. Carmel is how this hobby started… Soon after finding his grave site I expanded to other grave hunting topics such as athletes (recent interest), inventors, politicians, military figures (my favorite), gangsters (all time favorite), murder victims, celebrities, police officers, etc…

With this hobby I have a special interest in finding the grave sites of military figures, old time baseball players, gangsters of course, cops, etc… One of these days I’ll make it out to Southern California… To be in every grave hunters dream because anyone who was practically anything in Hollywood is buried there…

This hobby is how I grew an interest in researching the American Civil War… Because I’d come across the grave sites of civil war generals, and soldiers buried in Detroit cemeteries… So that sparked my interest to research the war… Above all this hobby has to do with history for the most part… Because it encourages you to research not only how the person died, but also how they lived what things they were involved with… So until next weekend see ya…
